THE CAMBRAI ENQUIRY.
PACTS CONTRADICT RUMORS. London, Jan. 10. The Daily Express understands that 'flongenentte or other officers were sent home in consequence of the German counter-attack at Cambrai. The facts wholly contradict the rumors which have lately been growing fantastic. Nobody was likely to be retired, because after the Germans attacked a loosely-held section of the line they got it hot and strong. We killed and wounded more Gerrtans than on any previous day on the Western front. We killed so many tUtt our machine-gunners became physical tfek of killing.
