THE GERMAN COLONIES. £RITISH WORKERS OPPOSE RESTORATION. ■LABOR PARTY'S PROPOSALS REPUDIATED. ; DOMINIONS WOULD NEVER CONSENT. Received Jan. 11, 7.5ti p.m. k , London, Jan. 10. The conference of the British Workers' «ague has inaugurated a German Lost Committee, which oppo9eß re:uming any of the colonies to Germany, rhe league passed a resolution repuditting the Labor Party's proposals. Mr. MeColl, in moving the resolution, laid it Was essential for permanent peace ;hat Germany should have no "jumping Dff" places in the Pacific or South Africa, internationalization was impracticable. 3e. urged a consultation with the Dominions. Mr. J. A. Seddon and Sir J. Taverner supported the resolution. Lord Sydenham wrote that the Labor 'proposals were preposterous. The question .■oncerns Africa and Australasia, who MUBt have a powerful voice in the de:{gion. The Australians and New Zea.anders had evicted the Germans from ;he Pacific, therefore it was futile for the jaborites to dispose of the question withjut consultation with the Dominions. It was unthinkable that the Colonies should be handed back to the most barbarous nation in the world. Lord Beresford wrote stating that if Britain' attempted restoration, the Dominions would not consent. The executive of the Women's Liberal Federation has protested against Lord Rothermere's policy of air reprisals against German civilians. It urges the Government not to sanction the policy.
