Eight races are carded each day, the principal of which are the Taranaki Cup Handicap, of 550 sovs, 1J miles; Taranaki Stakes, of 500 sovs, 8 furlongs; Paul Memorial Handicap, of 250 sovs, fl furlongs; and Flying Handicap, of 225 sovs, 6 furlongs. In addition good stakes are offered for hacks, both on the flat and over the hurdles. The programme is attracting a lot of attention, and promises to draw horses from the best stables in , the North Island. Entries for all events close on Friday, January 11, at f) p.m., not on Saturday, as stated in the Dominion.
