At a brief sitting of the House of Representatives and Semite, Mr. Hughes announced his resignation and moved the adjournment until to-morrow, in order to allow time for consideration ot the situation. Jt is understood Mr. Hughes also informed tie members that the Governor(jeneral had commissioned him to form an administration, which the party was now discussing. It is believed in certain quarters that the Labor Party may be united to form a National Government.
