Reuter Service. ; ; Received Jan. 6, 5.5 p.m. New York, Jan.. 5. The first wool auction in the United States was held at Boston, when a million pounds of Australian was sold. Best scoured reached 2 dollars a pound, and greasy 70 cents. FARMERS' CO-OPERATIVE REPORT At the Hawera yards, on Thursday, we held our usual sale. There was a good yarding of cattle, which sold at fully late rates. Sheep came forward in small numbers, and also sold at late rates. We quote: Fat eows, £l2 15s to £l3 10s; fresh conditioned- cows, £lO 10s to £ll 10s; forward cows, £9 5s to £lO 2s 6d; store cows, £6 15s to £9 ss; bulls, £5 to £l7 ss; yearling heifers, £3 5s to £3 I7s (id; fat ewes, 29s sd'; 2-tootli ewes, 22s 9d; 2-tooth wethers, £1 2s lid; weaner pigs, !)s to 13s 6d. At the Kaponga yards, on Friday: There was a small yarding of cattle, and prices were the same as Hawera sale.
