DESTRUCTIVE FIRE IN SPAM, Received Jan. 4, 8.45 p.m. Madrid, Jan. 3. The Palace La Granja has been d«' stroyed, and the houses adjoining an afire. A few treasures were saved. Thi losses are immense.
STEF ANSON'S EXPEDITION.
Ottawa, Jan.- S. The report that Stefansoir is at Port Yukon is incorrect. The Marine Department understands that he is still on board his ship at HersclreH Island, and 'probably Intends to travel overland ta Port. \PPherson and meet the Royal Norih-West Mounted Poiico patrol from Dawson, The results of his discoveries are not expected until summer.
