TWO MOTOR ACCIDENTS.

A LITTLE GIRL INJURED. Two motor accidents of a rather s*rt« ous nature occurred yesterday on the Mountain road near Tariki. The first took place yesterday morning. It appears that a young man named Paton was driving his taxi car to Stratford with a load of passengers, and when passing through the Tariki township a pony, ridden by Christine Harkness, about 10 years of age, daughter of Mr, W. V. ■Harkness,'swerved in front of the car, which struck the pony, with the result that its young rider was thrown throngh the wind screen into the body of the ear, sustaining a broken jaw and broken arm. Two of the passengers in the car, (a lady and a gentleman) wero cut by the glass from the wind screen. The second accident occurred in the evening. Mr. Lea. Jury, a well-known local ear proprietor, was returning from the races with several passengers, and when passing a car near the Rugby road, it is stated that a tyre blew out, with the result that the car capsized. One of the occupants, Mr. Anstis, of Omata, received injuries that necessitated his removal to New Plymouth for medical attention. The other occupants escaped injury.
