WEATHER REPORT.

TOR DECEMBER. Wo are indebted to Mr. W. W. Smith for the following: 'Recorded at Pukekura Par.k meteorological station, altitude 160 ft. The weather records for December show a high daily average of sunshine and winds. There were no extremes of temperature. Cool gale winds blew from the south-east on the 17th, 18th, and 19th; storm winds si'ith heavy rain showers were recorded on the l'lth, 14th, 22nd, and 24th. Snow fell 011 Mt. Egmont on the l'lth and 19th. Moist hail fell on Lttbh and 11th. Thunder occurred oa the 3rd (1.30 p.m.) and '4th (3 iV.Bt.). A slight earthquake or earth tr-emor was recorded on the 28th at 12.41 p.m. A magnificent ruddy suniset was noted on the 3rd. There wer# frequent fine displays of alto- and fractocumulus during II days. A "fine 'series of nitatous surrounded Mt. Egmont on the 7th. Following are the records for the month:
