FATAL MOTOR ACCIDENT.
{*3fi&.»-— —' -»■' ■ -is&i-i sp, DEATH OF 'A 'A"d (accident to a Maori named Ranui Noa, which occurred late on Wednesday evening, at Tataraimaka, terminated fatally, the injured man dying in New Plymouth hospital early on Saturday morning. The deceased; belonged to Pungajehu, and was returning home from the races with a party of natives. The motor was being driven toy a youth named Emmanuel >Dix, and when rounding & bend at the loot of Timaru Hill one of?th* back tyres burst and the car capsized and rolled over a bank. Deceased was sitting at the left-hand side on the bnck seat of the car, and the other occupants state that they were all thrown «lear of the motor. Noa complained of a aore back, and be also, had » stiff leg. In consequence of his complaints a passing car was hailed, and deceased was conveyed to the New Plymouth hospital, where ha died on Saturday. An inquest was opened at the courthouse on Saturday, before Mr. A. Crooke, S.M. ■ ' '"'"" Matiu Taije, a brother of deceased, said he last saw him alive at about 10.30 pjn. on Mday.
