In New Plymouth the usual monster beach picnic has been arranged by the Ngamolu Seaside Committee, at which various extra attractions are this year provided. A wide range' of sports items is included 011 the pro--gramme, including tl;c schools championship three-mile race, for which large I entries have been roceivd. There will also be 3 limit for treasure buried in the sand. In addition to such attractions there are the permanent, features of the beach which include the appointments and tea kiosk in the coustry. Hot water, tea, milk and . , ; i ' will he provided free. The Citizen*" band will be in attendance. Admission to the grounds will be one shilling for adults, children free. Bowlers will find ample means of outlet for their enthusiasm for the spot't 1 - in the tournament, which will be pljiyed 011 the three local greens on the Ist,and 2nd of January. Nineteen rinks entered and these have been divided into three sections. Play will eomp.ience ; at 0 a.m. each day. The section will be of sixteen heads and one semifinal of 21 heads. f
