The races.—Glorious weather prevailed for the Taranaki Jockey Club's Christmas meeting on Wednesday. The lawns were in splendid order, while the Aowcr beds round 'the kiosk, with their wealth of bloom, made a gorgeous picture. The Citizens' Band, under the eonduetorsliip of Mr F. W. G.
