The Canterbury lirst innings resulted in 171 (Blunt 17, Allardvce 30, Read 18, Gray 20, Bootli 31); Mcßetli took six wickets for 52, Livingstone two for 71, Patrick two for 17. Otago in their second innings scored 104 (Alloo 17, Conradi 17. Patrick 38. Oallar.d 18); Blunt took four wickets for (SO, Thomas three for 2, Read two for 3;>. In the Canterbury second innings five wickets fell for -life (Hay 10, Pen-in 21, Cray 32, Read not out 34); Mcßetli took three wickets for-' 150. Livingstone two for 52.
