ALLEGED MURDER.

ARGUMENT ENDS FATALLY. Ashburton, Dec. 24. Robert Roberts, aged 61, as old resident. was found lying unconscious in livery stables in Ashburton late on Sat-, urday evening. He waß taken to the hospital, where he died early this morning... It is alleged that he had an argument yith Hugh Holland, a well-known farmer at Tinwald, and the latter pushed him over. Roberts struck the back of his head on the asphalt. Holland was arrested yesterday and charged this morning with murder. It is alleged that some men, including Holland and deceased, were drinking in the stable when an argument ensued. Possibly the charge may be reduced to manslaughter.
