PUBLIC NOTICES. BOROUGH OF NEW PLYMOUTH. RACE TRAFFIC, DECEMBER 20. JQ RIVERS of vehicles plying for hire to and from the Racecourse on the 26th instant,"are hereby notified to strictly adhere to the following routes: MOTOR VEHICLES TO THE RACEGOURSE.—From starting point near Criterion Hotel Via Devon and Gover streets to Racecourse. FROM THE RACECOURSE.—Gover Street to Peiidarves- Street, thence along Peiidarves Street and Liardet Street to Courtenay Street, thence along Courteney Street and Powderham Street to Robe Street and thence along Robe St. and Devon Street to starting point. HORSE-DRAWN VEHICLES.—Start from Rank of New Zealand in Brougham Street and proceed via Brougliam, Gill and Gover. Streets to the Racecourse, returning by the same route. All vehicles must enter the Racecourse and turn round the telegraph post at the upper end of the Club's private road. Persons driving at excessive speed or not conforming strictly to the directions of the Inspectors will be prosecuted. Messrs .John Lvneh and David A. McKay have been appointed Assistant Inspectors of Vehicles and Traffic under the Borough By-Laws, for the day above referred to. F. T. BELLRINOER, Town Clerk.

WAITARA BRANCH.—Tho trains usually leaving Waitara 2.35 p.m. and 3.5 p.m. for Lepperton and the trains usually leaving Lepperton 3.12 p.m. and 5.45 p.m. for AVaitara will NOT run. QN WEDNESDAY, December 20, 11)17, the ordinary Timetable will be observed, except as follows: HAWERA-NEW PLYMOUTH.—ReIief train, stopping where required, will leave Hawera 7.1)5 a.m., Normanby H.S a.m., Eltliam 5.45 a.m., Stratford '.t.25 a.m., Midlnrst 0.41, Tariki 0.54, Inglewood 10.14, Lepperton 10.38, New Plymouth arrive 11.5 a.m. Return train leaves New Plymouth 5.25..p.m. for Hawera and Waitara. (NOTE.—This train leaving •Vew Plymouth 5.25 does not connect at Stratford with a Train for mona.) The usual 3.45 p.m. train New Plymouth to Hawera will be delayed to leave New Plymouth 4.25 p.m. for Hawera and Whangainomona. This train does not connect at Lepperton with the train for Waitara. W AIJ ARA BRANCH.—The trains usually leaving Waitara at 3.45 p.m. and 5.5 p.m. for Lepperton and leaving Lepperton 4.28 p.m. and 5.45 p.m. for Waitara will NOf run. A train will leave Waitara 5.30 p.m. for Lepperton returning from Lepperton at 6.2* p.m. QN TUESDAY, Ist January, 1018, the ordinary Timetable will'be observed except as follows: NEW PLYMOUTH-HAWERA.—The usual 3.45 p.m. train New Plymouth to Hawera will be delayed to leave New Plymouth 5.25 p.m. for Hawera, Waitara and Whangamomona. NOTE.—The morning train from Hawera and the 5.25 p.m. train from New Plymouth will.stop at East End nlatform (near Fitzroy), to set down*and take up passengers respectively. AIT ARA BRANCH.—The trains usually leaving Waitara at 3.45 p.m. and 5.5 p.m. for Lepperton, and leaving Lepperton 4.2S p.m. and 5.45 p.m. for Waitara will NOT run.
