INGLEWOOD. The Inglcwood Club lias been engaged ill several matches amongst members lately. In the Leslie bowls a challenge by W. Lightfoot, R. Pvne. U. McLa"«a D n A. Coldwell (s.J was'defended bAhe holders, J. Drake, A. Lile, A. Leslie, J. Wilson (a.). After some interesting play the holders won by a margin of a few points. In the pairs handicap, W. Martin and fl. Cottier (s.) defeated R. H. Geddes and F. Spurdle (s.). G. MeLaggan and A. Coldwell were too strong for R. Branch and C. Lawrence, whilst Martin and Cottier proved successful in the contest with Esse and Ilartogg.

The singles championship is progressing. 1. Spurdle has recorded wins against Alien and Light foot; Pvnc beat Lightfoot, and Branch beat MeLaggan Probably the most interesting game of the series was that between Loslib and MeLaggan. In the early stages the president held a commanding lead, and at the sixteenth head his score was *2l to McLaggan's 10. The latter then monopolised the scoring, and at the 20th head had brought his score to IS. whilst Leslie ailded a single. Wanting 4 to tie in the last head, MeLaggan secm-ed these, and a further head being necessary, lie scored two and won. The win was a popular one, and ,MeLaggan was congratulated on his fine stern chase and successful ending. The Patriotic Buttons are now held by ii. Pyne and A. Coldwell, who won from W. Lightfoot and F. Spurdle. J. Drake and J. Wilson mad-* a big effort to lift them, but the last bowl of Caldwell's decided the issue and the Buttons are still held by Pyne and Coldwell. Inglcwood defeated Waitara on the latter's ground by 19 points STRATFORD CLUB. Four rinks from the Stratford Club hope to visit Manaia on Thursday.
