A meeting of tlio Taranaki District Committee was held last night, when there were present Messrs. L. A. Nolan (chairman), G. Fraser, W. Nieoll, A. Alexander, O. W. Sole, J. McLeod, B. Clianev, E. F. Blundell, W. Hookham, F. Orbell, N. King, J. Gray and A. S. Tonks. A trainer's license was granted to T. C. White, and jockeys' licenses to A. B. Clark and S. T. S. Crow. Hector Gray's conditional license was renewed. JOCKEY CLUB COMMITTEE. A meeting of the Taranaki Jockey Club committee -was held at the office of the secretary, last night, when all those mentioned above were present, with the exception of Messrs Gray and Tonks. It was resolved to admit soldiers in uniform free at all gates at the Christmas and February meetings. Returned and discharged soldiers will he granted free admission tickets on production of their discharge at the office of the club. The New Plymouth Citizens' Band's application for the use of the bandstand for their carnival on the 27th instant was granted. It was decided to obtain further information in reference to the proposed sand track.
. Three new members were proposed. Accounts amounting to £37 7s lOd were passed for payment.
