The atmospheric pressure is still low off the East Cape, and southerly gales and showery conditions have been reported *n tile northern and eaetern districts of the North Island. Elsewhere decreasing southerly winds and fair but cold weather ruled to-day. Present indications arc for moderatl to'strong south-east winds in and northwards of Cook (Strait, and variable breezes, with easterlies predominating., elsewhere. Weather fair to cloudy generally, but squally and showery' along the east coast of the North Island. The barometer has a rising tendency.
