LOAN AND MERCANTILE REPORT. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Stratford, reports as follows: On Thursday, December 0, we held our usual monthly sale in our Kohuratahi yards. Owing to dullness of market we had a small yarding. Most lines changed hands at satisfactory prices at the hammer or immediately afterwards. 2year steers, £8 5s to £lO ss; bulls, £9 13s; bulls, £ll 13s; shorn wethers, 24s (id to 28s; shorn ewes, 24s to 24s fid; small shorn hoggets, 13s. On Tuesday, December 11, we held oiir usual fortnightly sale in our Stratford yards. We had a good yarding and nearly every line changed hands at satisfactory values, despite the unpleasantness of the wet weather. On Tuesday, December 11, we held a clearing sale on account of A. J. Huston, Esq., consisting of cattle, sheep and farm implements, in our Stratford yards. Considering the quality of the stock, values were satisfactory, particularly for the cattle. The sheep were of small frame, and lambs were late and small in size. Implements and horses sold well. Bullocks, £l3; steers, £8" to £8 18s; fresh forward cows, £9 to £lO 16s; heifers in milk, £0 2s 6d; 15-month heifers, £5 2s to £5 17s; bulb, £fi 5s to £9. Machinery, etc.: Discs, £10; Duncan plough, £8 ss; lever plough, £C 10s; International, £2 ss; swingletrees, 355; chain harrows, £9; jack, £(i; tip dray, £10; tip dray harness, £4. On Thursday, December 13, we held our usual monthly sale in our Te Wera yards. Most stock yarded were saleable sorts, and made ruling values. Store cows, £7 7s (id; 15-month steers, £7 ss; shorn ewes, 255; shorn wethers, 255. On Friday, December 14, we held our usual monthly sale in our Tarata yards. We had a good yarding, and a vcry'satisfactory sale. Young Rattle showed buoyancy of competition at recent values. Hoggets sold in conformity with recent lower values.
