CROP PROSPECTS.

IMPROVED BY THE RAIN. Christchurch, Dec. 11. The fall of rain experienced on the East Coast will do an immense amount of good to all kinds of crops, besides reviving pastures. It is anticipated that it will have the effect of ridding the oat crops of rust, as .the rain was heavy. The rusted crops also would receive some benefit from the high north-west wind on Saturday. There is practically no business doing in the local markets, there being no Bluff to handle. The oats harvest has commenced in some of the early crops, but it will bo some weeks before any is on the market. The rain will have the effect of cheeking premature ripening of the later crops.
