TROOPS MAY HELP ITALY. COMBINED NAVAL OPERATIONS. Washington, Dec. 6. The creation of the supreme naval council will result in the diversion of' some American warships to the Mediterranean and Adriatic Seas, where the Allied fleets will attempt a decisive blow against Austria. It is also likely that American troops will be sent to Italy. HELP FOR ITALY. SUPPLIES, SHIPS AND MEN Received Dec. 7, 8.30 p.m Washington, Dec. 0. The House Foreign Committee reports that the United States is sending supplies and ships to Italy, and will soon send troops, DECLARATION OF WAR ON AUSTRIA. ITALIAN REJOICINGS. United Service. Received Dec. 7, 5.5 p.m. London, Dec. 6. ' A message from Rome says the news that the United States is declaring war on Austria has roused enthusiasm in Italy, and that a nation-wide demonstration of gratitude is being planned. Italian soldiers and aviators communicated the news to the enemy. GERMANY'S LESSER ALLIES. WEAKENING IN TKEIR SUPPORT. SOCIALIST PEACE MOVE. Received Dec. 7, 5.5 p.m. Washington, Dec. 6. Mr. Flood, chairman of the House Foreign Relations Committee, answering the demands for a declaration of war on Turkey and Bulgaria, said the United States was informed that Germany's lesser allies Were weakening in their support. A Socialist peace representative in London had introduced a resolution instructing Congress to initiate the organization of an international league to obtain a durable peace, and to invite the Allies' Parliamentary representatives to convene a joint conference at Washington for that purpose. DECLARING WAR ON AUSTRIA Washington, Dec. 6. The Senate Foreign Relations Committee has adopted a resolution declaring war on Austria.
