THE C2 MEN.
MAY PROVIDE 3000 MEN. (From Our Own Correspondent). Wellington, Dec. 4. The official figures just issued regarding the re-examination of the C2 men are 'of some interest as indicating that the combing over of the rejected First Division reservists is going to make substantial additions to the number of fit men at the disposal of the recruiting authorities. The special Medical Board has examined 2457 C2 men and lias classed 142S as fit for training in camp. The re-examination'of all tile C2 men from the first six ballots will be completed this month and it is estimated that eventually they will produce not fewer than 1200 fit recruits, after the eliminating tests in the CI camp at Tauherenikau. If a similar ratio fs maintained for the remainder of the CI men of the First the final result of the ro-examin-Ation will be to give the defence authorities something like 3000 fit recruits, or more than two reinforcement drafts at the present quota. These figures are not official and tliev may err on one side or the other, but there is reason to believe that they are not far wrong.
