NO GENERAL EXEMPTION. MILITARY SERVICE BOARDS TO DECIDE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Replying to a communication from the Miramar Borough Council regarding the exemption of Seoond Division firemen, the Prime Minister states: This matter lias been placed before the National Efficiency Board for consideration, and I am now advised that the board, after consideration, does not deem it desirahle to recommend any genera! exemption for brigadesmen, tat is of opinion that each appeal should be dealt with by a Military Service Board, which is the authority set up by at&tutc for this purpose, r would paint Dut that the National F.fl'icieney Board has no power to grant exemption to any reservist who has been called up for service.
