He opposes the restoration of the status quo, and denies Serbia's, right to her original status. Austria must improve her frontiers. The war made pre-war conditions unsatisfactory. BRITISH AND FRENCH GENERALS. HINDENBURG'S OPINION I Received Dec. 5, 10 p.m, Reuter Service, London,, Dec.. 4. In the course of an interview Marshal Bindonburg said that both the British and French were, brave. The French were the cleverer. The' strength of the British lies in their numerical superiority and in their artillery. There were able men amongst the French generate. The British generals had learned an entirely different warfare to European, and trench warfare is no school in whioh a great general can develop. PRIVATIONS IN AUSTRIA. A SERIOUS REVOLT. Official reports, via Jassy, describe the terrible privations in Austria. There is no harvest in Istria, Dalmatia or Bosnia, and /iota continually occur in Hungary and Bohemia. Rioters at Budapest seized a munitions factory, and thousands were killed before the revolt was suppressed. Many, deserters have fled to the mountains and liave become outlaws. HINDENBURG OVERWORKED. LUDENDORFF DOING HIS WORK. i Amsterdam, Dec. 4. A wireless message states that, according to "reports from the German (rentier, alarming news of Hinderrburg's health has reached Berlin. It is represented that 'he is overworked and that his duties are now mainly performed by General von Ludendorff. Arrangements have been made to allow Hindenburg as much rest ag possible.
