CONFERENCE OP LOCAL BODIES." By Telegraph,-—Press Association. Napier, Last Night. A conference of eighty delegates, representing East Coast local bodies, was opened in the Municipal Theatre this morning, to consider urging the prosecution of the Waikarcmoana scheme. The [Mayor of Napier presided. Hon. W. | Fraser and Mr. Parry were present. The president, questioned, said "the Mangahao scheme could supply Napier aa soon as i Wellington. It was not for him to say I which was the better, as that was a policy) matter. The conference is proceeding, and will place its views before I Mr. Fraser this evening. '
