PATRIOTIC WORK.
WOMEN'S PATRIOTIC COMMITTEE.
At the final business meeting of the New Plymouth Women's Patriotic Committee, held on Monday, members expressed their appreciation of the very generous and hearty sympathy shown by the public towards the work of the committee, and it was unanimously resolved, "That the Women's Patriotic Committee desire to publicly thank all those who have in the past year so generously supported the committee in their work for the soldier in camp, transport, and the men on active service, and! extend to ail Christmas and New Year greetings." The mayoress and committee regret 'that owing to the work in "the depot having greatly increased during the year they find it impossible to continue" the combined jiffort at the weekly Saturday Mart, but feel sure the public will respond in the same generous manner as before when patriotic need arises. As the rooms are now closed until February, will friends please note that Mr. Asber, treasurer, care Messrs Burgess, Fraser and Co., will receive all par- • c.nd donations?
