A STRANGE HABIT.

JUMPING OVER CLIFFS. A strange ease at present under notice of the Wellington police is that of Hamilton Perry, a young man who is being detained on a charge of attempted suicide at Island Bay.

On Friday Perry jumped over the cliffs at Island Bay, a distance of about 70 feet, and miraculous to relate escaped with merely minor injuries. Perry admitted to a constable that lie had jumped over the cliff, and, moreover, his hat was found on tlio edge of the cliff. It appears that Perry did the same thing some sis weeks ago when, as the result of his injuries, ho was taken to the hospital. Perry persistently speaks of "the miraculous intervention of Hod when I so over those places," and is thought to be a victim of- religious mania. When Perry jumped off the cliff on" Friday, his arm was still bandaged as the result of his former jump.
