ENTERTAINMENTS.

WILLIAM S. HART AT THE EMPIRE. IN "THE WOLF LOWRY." As "Wolf Lowry," William S. Hart is to be seen not as a gambler, a bad man, a gun-fighter, or a killer, but, in strong contrast to his previous work, in a part that is almost idyllic in its big-hearted, rugged honesty and devotion. His famous six-shooters are drawn only once, and then with chivalrous intent.

The drama, of course, contains the usual number of sensational riding stunts by the. great star, and the plot, is quite out of the ordinary. Margery Wilson, as the "selector" who rouses all the cattle wrath until he finds that *he is a delicately pretty girl, has a role which suits- ,her admirably. Scenes which show the aoi.ua! conditions on a large American cattle ranch abound, and ir| the great enclosure there are thousands of cattle. The throwing out of the land agent who is making coarse and. violent love to Margery, is tremendously dramatic, and the final scene is full of pathos and tense emotion. The supporting cast is strong and even, and the photography even better thaji the usual Triangle standard. "The Wolf Lowry" commences a threenight season at the Empire to-night. A WORLD FILM AT EVERYBODY'S. ALICE BRADY IN "MATERNITY." Everybody's Theatre was packed on Saturday by a crowd of picture enthusiasts anxious to view the World Film Company's drama "Maternity." The attraction of the sex problem is irresistible where the general public is concerned. "Maternity" is after the style of "Where Are My Children?" Where, however, the wife in the latter picture shirks her responsibility through indolence and the call of the butterflies of society, the wife in this more recent picture shirks her responsibilities through fear. Then, again, in "Maternity" the central figure is brought to the realisation of the emptiness of her life after rescuing from the fire the infant of another woman. The picture is delicately handled and very finely acted. The photography again is very fine, the filming of a fire 111 the dead of night presenting some weird and beautiful results 011 the scrjjgn. Miss Alice Brady and Mr. David .Powell take the leads. The latter will be remembered for the part he played as Freneau in "Gloria's Romance." The ending of the picture is an ideal one. The sensational movie serial "The Iron Claw" is now attracting its regular crowd of watchers at Everybody's every week. This week's instalment "The Name and the Game," is truly sensational. To-night will be the final screening of i this excellent programme.

One of the simplest and most effectual of household remedies for stomach troubles in yoimg 7 children is Shorland's 'Magnesia.
