"THE HAUNTED PYJAMAS'* AT THE EMPIRE. MATINEE AND NIGHT SESSIONS. The programme to be screened at the Empire Theatre matinee this afternoon and again to-night will include the "Weekly Topical," "Rex Beach Travel Series," "The Secret of the Submarine" (seventh episode) and Harold Lockuood in the remarkable Metro picture, "The Haunted Pyjamas.'' Speaking of this play itself—it is probably the most unusual photoplay of the season. The production partakes of the nature of a : farce, an extravaganza, and a powerful [dramatic story. Nothing like it has hitherto been seen on the screen. Characters change about in "The Haunted Pyjamas'' like figures in a kaleidoscope. The star changes before your eyes into a Chinaman; in the same way a. blonde young man changes into a beautiful girl with dark 'hair and eyes-. "Presto, change!" isvtlie order of the day, and it is all tho fault of those bewitched pyjamas, made from silk from the looms of an ancient Chinese Empress. Anyone who puts them on becomes instantly transformed into someone else, and the complications are amazing. No one who goes to see "The Haunted Pyjamas" could possibly be bored. It.is a clever combination of action, love and mystery. It is the kind of story that all "people are interested in. To-night will be the final screening. A BRILLIANT ,PROGRAMME AT EVERYBODY'S. "MORAL COURAGE." A new World film star makes her bow as lending lady in "Moral Courage." the brilliant drama screening at Everybody's this afternoon and to-night. This is Muriel Ostriehe, who takes the part of Mary McClinton, the. Scotch lassie with whom the mill-owners son (Arthur Ashley) falls in love. The story is full of fresh ideas, and a pleasing departure from the usual plot is recorded when the rich youngster actually marries his prcety sweetheart the expected betrayal being disregarded. The strong part of the plot arrives when the mill-owner, furious at his. son's marriage to a millhand tried to trap her and compromise her. However, she is far ton clever for him, and outwits all the schemes that are arranged to encompass her downfall. The supporting cast is strong and the New York scenes full of interest. The ice skating and mill scenes are perfect examples of good photography. Th programme also includes the third episode of "The Iron Claw" entitled "The Cognac Cask" in which the "Laughing Mask" and Margevv have some startling adventures.
