MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

BY-LAW CASES, A sitting of the Magistrate's Court was held "before Mr. A. Crooke. S.I 1., yesterday. Roy lioskins was fined lfts and costs 7s for cycling without a light in the borough. The Taranaki Count,y Council inspector (Mr. C. D. Grant), proceeded against Albert Mason for driving a motor lorry on the county roads without a license. The inspector had warned Macon some three weeks previously, but no license was taken out. and Magon said he did not intend to do so. A tine of ,C2 (costs £1 8s) was imposed. The inspector also -proceeded against Sairmei Marsh for overloading a motor lorry contrary to the Tarannki county bylaws., Mr. A. IT. Johnstone, who appeared for the defendant, stated that the motor had been loaded at. the brick kiln just inside the coitntv boundary at Waitar,", and in all the distance travelled on the county roads was not move than 203 yards. As soon as the boundary was crossed the driver was breaking no by-law. A tine of 5s (costs 17s) was imposed Charles Dunbar (Mr. Johnstone) for a similar offence was fined 10s (costs 17s Od).
