STRATFORD A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.
The success of the show to bo hold next Wednesday' and Thursday, is now assured beyond the expectations of tlie most, optimistic. In the cattle section the entries exceed last year's by no less than 149. Thirteen cows from all parts of Taranaki compete for the £ls prize for the best Jersey cow holding authenticated milk and butterfat records. In pedigrees the Jersey bull classes account for 29 entries, while the Jersey coiv and heifer classes show (57 entries, and grade Jerseys account for 38. In Ayrshires and Holsteins 32 and 59 entries have been received respectively. Milking Shorthorns are represented by over a dozen entries. In the fat cattle glasses a remarkable bullock is entered for competition by Mr. Bottomley. This beast is perhaps the heaviest ever e\ L hibited in a Taranaki show, and requires two cattle pens to aoeommodatis him. The classes in the grade section are all well filled. The stewards of the cattle section are seriously considering whether additional pens will have to be provfded. The one-aay tost has been concluded, and samples of the milk taken have to be tested before the Award can be made, which will be declared on Wednesday at 9 a.m. The officials of the Association realiso that the only factor which can mar the huge success of the show is the weather, which, it will be generally honed, will prove favorable, and assist in making the Stratford Show of 1917.
