Motor (Byclez Word has just como to hand that the U.S.A. Government lias placed an initial order with the Hcndee Manufacturing Co. for 3500 "Indian" motorcycles for immediate delivery, and that further quantities required will rango over 10,000 "Indian" machines. This is in spite of the fact that the "Indian" bid made to the Government was considerably higher than the price tendered by any other concern. The only other order placed by the Government was one tor" 1500 machines. ' Thq fact that the U.S.A. Government has an Advisory Board, including such experts as Thos. A. Kdison and Howard K. Coflin dealing with such matters as these makes this piece of business a distinct feather in the cap of the Hendce Co. It is conclusive proof that the "Indian" is the soundest proposition on the motor market, irrespective of price.
