From Our Own Correspondent. Eltlism, Nov. 20. A local resident who visited Rolokaic Lake on Sunday was much impres-ed with the beautiful surroundings, and thinks it a pity that this scenic, spot is not availed of by the general public. It Is only distant about nine miles, and the road generally is in 'fair order. There are a few bad patches, however, that create a feeling of uneasiness, and these may be the cause of few visitors making the journey. No less than 21 employees of the Egniont Box Company have joined the expeditionary forces. Of these four have been out, and all at Gallipoli—Velvin, Charteris, Dempscy, and Lee. Besides the four mentioned, others enlisted are Rlair, Hastedt, Donald, Jack, Andrew, and W. McLeod, H. Libean, J. Smart, W. Tlornblow, IT. A. Lea, Geo. Chalmers, Robert Barr. J. Attrell, T. White, J. Wllnrn. F. Binns, R. 11. Jackson, ar.d A. 11. George. Libc.au and Ilornblow have since returned and taken up their work once more. The local Belgian Sewing Guild U still showing good progress in its efforts to prepare comforts for the soldiers at the front Evidently the purse has been as busy as the needle, as the comforts forwarded include lollies, biscuits, smokes, jam. etc. Should the Second Division continue to go to the front, it will mean the closing I down of seme of the benefit societies. Mr. A. 11. Andrews, secretary of the local Court of Foresters, states that there is only one active member over military ago on tho books. The court p'osscssos tn excellent record in the matter of enlistments, and a glance at the roll of honor discloses the information that some of tho brothers have "gone west" in the effort to prevent world-wide German domination.
