ELLA HALL AT EVERYBODY'S TOMORROW. »A JEWEL IN PAWN." i A wide and touching appeal characterises a delightful picture, "A.Jewel m Pawn," which will b e the chief attraction at Everybody's to-morrow and Friday. The story is'that of a rich, but inexorable old man, who, when his daughter marries against his wishes, turns her adrift. In the evening of life he yearns for his daughter to cheer him in his declining years. She obeys his summons, but finds him not, and eventually dies heartbroken. To enable her to reach her father's home she was compelled to "pawn" her own daughter. "Her Jewel in Pawn" the mother speaks of in her last moments, and ultimately the girl is found being cared for in kindly fashion bv a Jewish pawnbroker. From this out the film is replete with dramatic surprises, leading up to an intensely interesting climax. The remaining fllma on the programme are of a high order of merit. There will be no pictures at Everybody's to-night owing to the theatre being engaged for the Male Choir concert. LOOK WHO'S HERE. To-night Jack Waller will present "Look Who's Here" at the Empire Theatre. Thi 3 show has been scoring praise all along the line and as it is some time since New Plymouth has had ft company of such magnitude everything promises for a very successful season. The company will play two nights here, to-night and to-morrow night. Speaking of the production the Dominion, Wellington, says: '"Smart, clean,, and brilliantly musical "Look Who's Here," the revue presented by Jack Waller at the Grand Opera House last evening is an entertainment of many uncommon qualities. The show is a musical cum-farcicnl. You have burlesque, music, comedy, vaudeville, revue, comic opera, and a. conservatorium concert all blended into one delightful and harmonious whole and it is impossible to detect any joins or seams. There are twenty-five performers in tho cast including Jack Waller, Wylie Watson, Gregory Ivanoff, Cecelia Gold, Ada Smart, Dorothy, Leslie and Dick White—in addition to the supporting company, and the Purple Band who made themselves so popular in Sydney and Wellington. One of the principal' numbers to be'introdueed this evening is the wonderful "1812'' overture in which .five pianos are used in conjunction with the other numerous musical instruments, Another novelty will be the one-minute plays and dramas, five of these being presented in the short space of four minutes. The staging and scenery of "Look Who's Here" are on a novel black and white color scheme, the principal scene being a fantastical futurist courtyard in Pierrot land with quaint arches of black and white relieved here anil there by huge white poms. The box plan is open at Collier's, where day sales may also bo obtained.
