Venizelos, in reply, said the grout majority of Greeks disapproved of Jvinj; Constantino's treacherous polity, and that no British check would alter the faith nf Greece in ultimate vietovv, If his policy, which the Crown hail set aside, had been carried out, the occupation of Gallipoli would have been accomplished in a week, and ths moral effect on Constantinople would have been such that a separate peace with Turkey would have resulted, and the Strait's would have been opened to the Allies, enabling them to equip Russia, whose 1915 defeat would thus h&ve been avoided. Bulgaria Would not lj,ive dared to move against the Entente, and peace might have been secured
