ARBITRATION COURT.
EXORBITANT LABOR DEMANDS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Nov. 10 In the Arbitration Court to-day Mr. Wesley Richards, for four unions under the General Laborers' Award, applied on the authority of the bonus clause to re-open the award and ask'for 7d per hour extra wages on Is 2d per hour and the war bonus at present paid. The Court questipned the exorbitant demand. Richards said it was the usual procedure to ask for more than what was actually required. Richards said he proposed to call strong important evidence showing the increased cost of living and the seriously unsatisfactory conditions prevailing
The employers' representative, Mr. I'ryor, ridiculed the application, but the Court decided to hear the evidence and set the hearing for next week.
