•■ TARIKI. (From A Correspondent). Last Tuesday night the first assistant of our cheese factory (who has been appointed to the position of manager at Toko) wa3 given a surprise party by about 30 of our. Tariki friends. A very pleasant evening was spent in cards, games, music, etc Mr. Rudkin, in a few well-chosen remarks, presented Mr. Kilpatrick with two very nice ciragette holders and cigarettes with them, and Mrs. Kilpatrick with a handsome silver jam spoon and butter knife in a caße. Mr. Rudkin also spoke of the good work Mr. Kilpatrick had done in Tariki at tennis, patriotic functions, etc., and also of the very good work done in the factory, and. in conclusion said if he worked as well where he was going both in the factory and amusements what was our loss would 1 be their gain. After a bumper supper and the singing of "They Are Jolly Good Fellows" tho party broke up, and wended their ways homeward well pleased with the night's outing.
