Tin; results of the various election.? hold on Wednesday in connection with the Rahotu and Oeo Ridings of the Egmont County are as follows (the official figures may ail'ect the figures, but will not afl'eet'the'result): Oeo Riding: A. W. Holder 152, T A. Rowe 139, R. W. ,T. McNeill 120 (elected) S. Campbell 110, E. S. Forsyth lOC. TJie three last-named represented the riding last, term, only one being re-elected. S. Campbell has been a member since the inception of the county, having been chairman for a term, whilst S. Forsyth was elected twelve months ago to fill a vacancy caused by the death of Cr. Rawnclille.

Rahotu Riding: T. Harvey ISS, W R Wright IST, W. O. Green 105 (elected), .7 Lawn SS. The two first-named were members of the old council.

The new council will consist of Messrs T. Harvey, W. R. Writ-lit, R. W. .T. McNeill (re-elected), A. W. Holder, T. A. Rowe, W. C. Green, M. O'Brien, T. H. H. Sinclair, and S. M. Cornish. Of the old council, Messrs M. Fleming (chairman), M. J. Mcßcynolds, and Jas. Young did not seek re-election, whilst there was a vacancy owing to the death of the late \ Cr. W. C. Dudley.

The election of chairman will givo councillors serious consideration. The last council possessed three ex-chairmen, but of these Cr. Fleming did not seek re-election, Cr. Dudby 'died, and Cr Campbell was defeated. Cr. McNeill, who has been chairman of a southern county, and Cr. Wright will probably be in the running.

Ratepayers decided by a, large inajorit.y in favor of raising 'a bridge loan of £15,000, the voting "being: For, 401against. 213. '

Hospital Board representatives.—The election for two representatives of the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board resulted as follows: Jas. l'oung 170, Rev. R. B. Gosnell 145 (elected), W. R. Wright 134. Mr. Jas. Young, who topped the poll, was selected by the council in place of >Mr. E. Maxwell (resigned), and attended last meeting of the board. STRATFORD. The result of the oletcions means the replacing of three of the old councillors. each of the ridings returning one of the retiring members and a new face to the council deliberations. . Considerable interest was taken in the North Riding, where four candidates (including the. chairman) went to the poll. Mr. F. Mackay scored a comfortable win over Cr. Raskin by 20 votes, and the latter was 41 votes ahead of Cr. Hathaway.

In the West Riding the voting' was fairly even, Mr. Hancock heading the poll with 00 votes, Cr. Anderson'' with 00 votes retaining his s e.it by a margin of eight votes over Cr. Simii.h.

As in the other ridings, tlu south 'contest saw Mr. J. O'Neili head the list with 113 supporters, against 73 obtained by Cr. J. Christoffct, and 05 by Cr. T. Coleman.

The result of. the voting may be taken as an indication that the ratepayers were not altogether enamored of the manner in which tho council's business was conducted, as of the four candidates opposing the retiring councillors three succeeded in winning first riding honors. With the defeat of the chairman it looks almost a certainty that Cr. Walter will occupy that position for the next term. , Details of the voting are as follows: NORTH: Mac- Bas- Hath- Rutkay kin away ledge Midhirst 50 73 25 30 Tuna 15 17 0 (!
