CONTROL OF MEAT PROFITS. DRASTIC GOVERNMENT ACTION. Received Nov. 15, fl.o p.m. Ottawa, Nov. .14. The Govemmtent has taken over the control of all meat packing houses in the Dominion, and is confiscating half the profits in excess of 7 per cent up to 15 per cent., and the whole of the profits in excess of 15 per cent. It is stated that this action 3iad become necessary owing to extensive food profiteering. THE GOVERNMENT'S PROGRAMME. Ottawa, Nov. 14. Sir Robert Borden, in a manifesto to the Canadian people, undertakes to grant women's franchise, conscript Wealth through adequate taxation, abolish patronage throughout the Government services, correct abuses in the militia, and mobilise Canada economically for the war.
