There was perfect spring weather for the third day of the V.R.C. meeting, consequently there were big crowds present and the brightest dressing. The going was good. Results: HURDLES.—Lord Grey 1, Westendale 2, Sunderland 3. Nine* started. Won by two lengths. Time, smin. 45sec. MIMOSA STAKES.—Fitness 1, Tragic Star 2, King of the Sea 3. Eight started. Won by a head. Time, Imin. lasee. LINLITHGOW STAKES.—Biplane 1, Whitefield 2, Cosmos 3. The only starters. The field kept together for half a furlong. Biplane then drew away and, though Whitefield was hard ridden, won easily by two lengths. Time, lmin. 37% sec. CARNIVAL HANDICAP.—Defence 1, Satin Bird 2, Fantarie 3. There were nine starters. A great finish. Won by a short neck, a head between second and third. Time, 2min. 7sec. OAKS STAKES.—FoIIy Queen 1, Lady Comely 2. Erastus 3. Six started. Lucy and. Erastus led the field to the turn, where Comely ran into second place from Folly Queen. The latter led at the .distance and, Comely's challenge being made too late, won by a length and a •■half. Time, 2min. 3()sec. VETERAN STAKES.-Chrome 1. The Toff 2, Arnio 3. Eight started. Litmus and Polydamus made all the running for half a mile, with Chrome third, then the Toff and Anno.
