"O I SPECTACULAR OUTBURSTS. By Telegraph.—Press AsßQci«tion. Taumarunui, Last Night. The outbursts from Ngauruhoe on Saturday night and all day on Sunday and to-day were felt like earthquakes* here, accompanied by a noise like the booming of distant cannon. On Sunday and today numbers ascended the hills at Taumarunui, and saw many spectacular outbursts from the volcano cone, the volumes of smoke rising rapidly, geyierlike to a great height. There was a colossal outburst at 12.30, and another at 2.30 to-day, the vibration being such that windows rattled.
