The death from wounds is recorded of Private Jasper Riddle, of Norttiaftbv, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. W. RUidle/ Sonic years ago he was one of Tarnnakj's folding Rugby footballers, and represented this province on more, than one'occasion.
Dr. Albert Martin, a well-known medical practitioner, of Wellington, died last night. Two days ago he performed an operation, and while doing so 'was scratched by a pin, blood-poisoning ensuing. He was born in Wellington, being u son of the late Hon. J. Martin. Ho leaves a wife, son and daughter.' He was aged 57.—Press Association. Mrs. W. H. Hawkins, of Oknto, lias received word that her husband, Captain W. H. Hawkins, who was wounded. is now in England awaiting orders. Her son. Sergeant Percy Hawkins, is also out of hospital, and is now in Sling Camp undergoing specin! training before returning on duty lo New Xenlaud. Another son. Rugby, lias joined the veterinary branch of the aerviec ill France.
