CHRISTCTIUROTI CRIMINAL SESSIONS. By Telcgrapla.—(Press Association. Chiistchurch, Oct. 30. •In a case in which John Griffin was charged with stealing loewt. of ingot tin and 2cwt. of lead-headed nails, valued at £238 10s, his Honor directed the jury to bring in a verdict of not guilty, which was done. Silas James Devlin M'Alister, a youth, charged with arson, was ordered to come up for sentence when called upon, within the next three years, on the understanding that he placed himself under the control of the Salvation Army for the period mentioned. THE CRADDOCK CASE. THREE YEARS' IMPRISONMENT. Christchureh, Nov. I. In tha Supreme Court, Alfred Ernest Craddock, convicted yesterday of fraudulent conversion of trust moneys, was further charged with the theft of various sums, from the Trench trustees £360 10s, W. J. Trench £7O, Samuel Gallagher £250, and Edward Adkins. Accused pleaded guilty to the charges relating to the Trench estate and W. J. Trench, not guilty on the others, on which no evidence, was offered, and a formal Verdict of not guilty returned. Craddock was sentenced to three years' imprisonment on each charge on which he was convicted, the sentences to be concurrent.
