BY MUNITIONS DEPARTMENT A statement was made by t'he Hon. Arthur Myers, Minister in Charge of Munitions and Supplies, in the House of Representatives on Tuesday afternoon, to the effect that the total value of orders placed by the Department under his control since its inception over two years ago was approximately £3,1€0,000, made up as follows: '£ Clothing | 1,575,000 Footwear 175,000 Hardwear .......... 76.000 Food : '9*7,000 Forage 49,(100 Drugs .......15,000 Bedding . 157.000 Miscellaneous ...... 106,000 The total number of articles represented by the orders placed during the period above-mentioned amount to, roughly, 07,000.000. Included in this total ,are: — Boots. 160,000; shoes, 76,000; socks. 241,000; jerseys S3,000; underpants, 170.000; undershirts, 170,000; tunic-s, 134;000; trousers, 930,000; blankets, 211.000; cholera belts, 01,000; greatcoats, 85,000. pantaloons, 26,000; putties, 140,000; hats', 11.8,000; shirts, 185,000.
