TWO FAMOUS STARS AT EVERYBODY'S. MAIIV MILKS MIXTUR AND VIRGINIA PEARSON. The splendid programme introduced at Everybody's last evening attracted a big crowd of motion picture followers who were rewarded by an exhibition of two of the best picture-dramas seen here lor some time. Little Mary Miles Minter was as sweet as could be imagined hi a wholesome and breezy story, "The Gentle Intruder." Of course there is a love story, .but. it is such a wholly sweet and delightful story that it captivates the male as well "as the female onlooker by its ineffable charm. Little' Mary is cast in the role of innocence that reforms wickedness but although gay it I not such a very bad wickedness as the final proves. It is a pretty story and will please all classes of picture patrons. On tho same programme Virginia Pearson stars in the Fox feature "Daredevil Kate" a good vigorous type of photoplay set amidst the atmosphere of a western mining camp. COMING TO-MORROW. At the matinee to-morrow the popular Greater Vitagraph star Anita Stewart will be featured in the Blue-ribbon feature "The Combat." Described as "the story of a loveless marriage and a woman's unyielding faith," "Tho Combat," gives pretty Anita .Stewart what is probably the greatest opportunity of her career. The drama pictures the fight of a woman against her second husband for the life of her first husband, who 'has now unexpectedly turned up. It is a first-class play in every way. A PROGRAMME OF EXCEPTIONAL INTEREST AT (EMPIRE TO-NIGHT. _ Three films that have aroused considered interest lamongst picture-goers throughout the chief cities of the Dominion will be included on the change of programme at tho .popular Empire theatre to-night. The "Rex Beach Travel Series" (at present attracting big crowds at the Auckland, and at Short's in Wellington), will enter on the second stage of this remarkably interesting trip through tlie ''Spanish Main" to-night. The fourth episode of "The Secret of the Submarine" will also be a. feature of the new bill and as the management announce this is more than a serial, it is an event in the lives of regular picture goers. This serial is full of furious action—swiftly running the whole gamut of intense, dramatic situations, desperate [and deadly struggles, sensational thrills and sudden changes. There is intrigue jin diplomatic circles, there is the patriotism of the hero in the endeavor to save the secret for his country and the, I Allies; the powerful efforts of foreign [spies to obtain the wonderful secret: jthe mystery of the hiding place of the plans; and the further mystery of the identity of the girl; a. fine love story, and a thrilling succession of daring adventures. As a final to this splendid selection there is the brilliant fiVp reel Metro feature "Sowers and Reapers," in which Emmy Whelen is the star. This [picture needs no comment as it has gained a reputation in the cities and is already familiar to local enthusiasts. There will be a matinee to-morrow when the full programme will be shown.
