' OPENING DAY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Palmerston N., Yesterday. The Manawatu A. and P. Show opened to-day in wet weather. As usual, there is a good exhibition of stock, the classes in dairy cattle being particularly, well represented, while sheep and horses arc also good classes. The schools division shows a big increase in entries, and is a pleasing feature of •'the show. The championship in Eorkahire pigs was secured by Mrs. Wall (Hastings). Milking Shorthorns.—Champion bull: M. Kearins (Kairanga). Reserve champion: S. Bolton (Oete). Champion cow: W. Brady (Woodvillo). Beserve champion: Central Development Farm (YVeraroa).
