SIX O'CLOCK CLOSING. Australian-N.Z. Cable Association. Melbourne, Oct. 30. Mr. Peacock, in a policy speech, announced that the six o'clo'ek closing of hotels would continue until a referendum was taken after the war. It was also intended that an actual majority should decide the no-license vote. THE RECRUITING SHORTAGE. Sydney, Oct. 30. of the State Recruiting Committee reports that on the Government's recent basis 7000 recruits are required monthly. At the end of September New Zealand was sending more reinforcements for wier division than Australia for a force nominally five times as great.
