RIFLE SHOOTING.
The 3Cew Plymouth Defence Rifle Cluti will fire the first handicap competitions for the respective cups on Thursday and Saturday next, Ranges 300 and 600 yards, 10 shots and 1 optional sighter at each range. Handicaps as follows: Riflemen Oliver, Bruce, Short, and bxm, member Jarvis, ecr.j Riflemen Moore, Blanchett, Coppen, and Ramson, 2; Rifleman Christiansen, 3; Rlflemsn Keating, Okey, and Pres. Hill. 4) Riflemen Lobb, 5 • Riflemen Griffiths and Firth, 6; Rifleman Perry, 8; Rifletirth H, Hill, Lysons, Palmer, White, and Browne, 10; Rifleman Benton, 12; remainder of clnb 20 points. The Urenui Ttifle Club's possession of the shield is to be keenly disputed. Already challenges 'have reached the secretary in the following order: Tahora, New Plymouth, Inglewood, and Whawtalnomona.
