COURT MARTIAL.
DESERTER SEVERELY SENTENCED. By Telegraph.—'Press Association. Palmerston N„ Oct. 27. Francis Joseph Carroll, tried yesterday by district court-martial on a charge of desertion from the Expeditionary Force, was sentenced to two years' imprisonment with hard labor. The sentence has been confirmed and promulgated by the officer commanding the Wellington district (Colonel Hume).
