The death is announced from Wasfo* ington of Bob Fitzsimmona, the one time champion pugilist of the tfofld. Mr. C. Carter received an official intimation last night that hi* son, Gordon, had been wounded in the forehead, and admitted to hospital on October 14. Mr. 11. Lett, of Oaknra, has received cable advice that his brother, J. Lett, who enlisted in Australia early in the win 1 , has been killed in action at the front. Deceased was a South African veteran. Mr. and Mrs. G. Ward, of Inglewood, have received word that their lixth son, Charlie Richard, was killed in action in France on October 10. Private Ward left New Zealand with the 21st Rein* forcements. Driver J. Pascoe, of Rahotu, who saw service with the 4th Reinforcements at Gallipoli, and was wounded three times, is proceeding to camp on Friday morning for home service duties. At a meeting of the committee of the Dominion Winter Show, Mr. L. .0 Hooker was appointed manager and secretary. He takes charge on November Ist. Mr. A. D. D. Crawford, a well-known solicitor, was found dead at his home in Sale Street., Hokitika, last week. He had been in had health for some time. Mr. Crawford, who was a native of Scotland, and about 58 years of age, leaves a widow and three .children in Scotland. He came to Hokitika about eight years ago, and was editor of the U est Coast Times for a couple of years. Inter commencing practice as a solicitor. He took an active interest in the Golf and Bowling Clubs, and was a member of Hie Hokitika Borough Council and Charitable Aid Board for, a period.
