Judgment summonses:—W. Blyth (Mr. Gow) v. Joe Epia, £3 lis 6d, to be paid before October 29, or 14 days; Tinburn (Mi. Marshall) v. Wharepouri, ordered to pay £6 9s by October 29, or seven days; Joseph Lawn (Mr. Marshall) v. Henry Bayly, £l4 14s Od, no order made; Joseph Lawn (Mr. Marshall) v. Poi Wharepouri, ordered to pay £6 9s by October 29 or seven days ; same v. Te Peki, £43 3s 7d, ordered to pay amount by October 22, or seven days; Egraont County Council (Mr. Marshall) v. TamaKahi, ordered to pay £9 16s, or seven days; Joseph Lawn (Mr. Marshall) v. Thomas Martin, ordered to pay £l4 or seven days; Joseph i'awn v. Warea, ordered to pay £ls 3j Id or 14 days. Matthew Coffey was fined 7s and'costs for allowing a horse to wander on the road. Two charges were laid against him by the foreman, tho total amount costing the defendant £2 ss. The impounding case, Wright v. Harris (foreman of iParihaka Road Board) was withdrawn.
The funeral of the late Mr. W. C. Dudley was largely attended. Members of the Town Board and County Council aeted as pall bearers. The Rev. Walks., (Anglican) officiated. The coastal residents paid their last tribute to one who had been honored by them during the time he lived amongst them. The position now vacant on public bodies through the death of the late Mr. Dudley arc: Chairmanship of Opunake Town Board, Racing Club committee and Patriotic Society, Opunake representative on County Council, vacancy on the Licensing Bench, and committee of Bowling Club. Mr. Robert Warner, another old identity, died in the New Plymouth Hospital on Monday, aged 70 years. He had resided' in this district 29 years and owned a farm on the Eltlum Road. He had done a lot of contracting work on the coast. Deceased was an ex-member of the Egmont Council, and had been one of the original committeemen that formed the Caledonian Society, Horticulture and Seaside Society. He was- also, a prominent member of the local branch of the Farmers' Union. He leaves a wife, five sons and two daughters. Two sons pie-deceased him, one having been killed in action in France. At the annual meeting of the Bowling Club the following officers were elected: President, Mr. J. Feaver, senr.; vicepresidents, Messrs S. M. Cornish and S. Feaver; secretary and treasurer, Mr. J. P Burton; general committee, Messrs .Burton, Arthur, Cornish*, Parkes and Des Forges: green committee. Messrs. Sorrensen. Parkes and Cornish; preen warden, Mr. S. Parkes; rinka committee, Messrs. Burton, Des Forges and Cornish; delegate to Tarantki 8.C.. Mr. F J. Hili
